What is CDS (Combined Defence Services)?

Combined Defence Services (CDS) is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year for recruitment in Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Indian Air Force Academy (AFA).Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible for the UPSC CDS exam with certain age limit.
Combined Defence Services (CDS) is conducted in the month of February and November for graduate candidates. Girls are only eliglible for OTA .After theCombined Defence Services (CDS) written exam , the qualifying candidates face an interview conducted by SSB (Staff Selection Board).

On the basis of the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2020 declared by the Union Public Service Commission on 23rd March, 2021, the Commission decided to commence the Personality Tests (Interviews) of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2020 from 26.04.2021. However, due to unprecedented growth in the number of people infected with Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) countrywide, as a precautionary measure, the Union Public Service Commission deferred the Personality Test of the CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION 2020 which were scheduled to commence with effect from 26.04.2020 (Monday).

1. ई-प्रवेश पत्र की सावधानीपूर्वक जांच करें तथा विसंगतियां, यदि कोई हों, तत्काल संघ लोक सेवा आयोग के ध्‍यान में लाएं।

2. संघ लोक सेवा आयोग के साथ अपने सभी पत्र व्‍यवहार में अपना नाम, अनुक्रमांक, रजिस्‍ट्रेशन आई डी तथा परीक्षा के नाम और वर्ष का उल्‍लेख करें ।

3. प्रत्येक सत्र में परीक्षा भवन में प्रवेश निश्चित करने के लिए (मूल) फोटो पहचान पत्र के साथ ई-प्रवेश पत्र (प्रति) अवश्य लाएं, जिसकी सं. ई-प्रवेश पत्र पर उल्लिखित है केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बल परीक्षा, 2021 के अंतिम परिणामों की घोषणा तक ई-प्रवेश पत्र को अवश्य ही सुरक्षित रखें।

4. ई-प्रवेश पत्र की सुरक्षा की जिम्‍मेदारी आपकी है और यदि कोई अन्‍य व्‍यक्‍ति इस ई-प्रवेश पत्र का प्रयोग करता है, तब यह प्रमाणित करने का दायित्व आपका है कि आपने किसी प्रतिरूपधारक की सेवा नहीं ली है।

5. उम्‍मीदवार नोट करें कि ओ एम आर उत्‍तर पत्रक में, विशेषकर अनुक्रमांक और परीक्षण पुस्‍तिका की सीरीज़ कोड के संबंध में विवरण कूटबद्ध करते समय हुई किसी प्रकार की चूक/ भूल/ विसंगति के मामले में उत्‍तर पत्रक अस्‍वीकृत कर दिया जाएगा।

6. कृपया नोट करें कि परीक्षा के प्रारंभ होने के 10 मिनट पहले परीक्षा स्थल पर प्रवेश बंद कर दिया जाएगा अर्थात पूर्वाहन सत्र में 09:50 बजे तथा अपराहन सत्र में 01:50 बजे प्रवेश बंद होने के पश्चात परीक्षा स्थल पर किसी भी उम्मीदवार को अंदर जाने की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी।

8. उम्मीदवारों को यह ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि उन्हें उनके ई-प्रवेश पत्र में वर्णित परीक्षा स्थल के अलावा किसी अन्य परीक्षा स्थल पर परीक्षा में बैठने की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी।

11. उम्मीदवारों के पास कोई मोबाइल फोन (यहां तक कि स्विच ऑफ मोड में भी) , पेजर या अन्य इलेक्ट्रॉनिक उपकरण अथवा प्रोग्राम किए जाने योग्य डिवाइस अथवा पेन ड्राइव जैसा कोई स्टोरेज मीडिया, स्मार्ट वॉच, इत्यादि अथवा कैमरा अथवा ब्लूटूथ उपकरण अथवा कोई अन्य उपकरण अथवा संबंधित एक्सेसरीज चालू अथवा स्विच ऑफ मोड में नहीं होने चाहिएं जिनका परीक्षा के दौरान संचार उपकरण के रूप में प्रयोग किया जा सकता है। इन अनुदेशों का किसी प्रकार से उल्‍लंघन किए जाने पर अनुशासनिक कार्रवाई सहित भविष्‍य की परीक्षाओं पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया जाएगा।

12. उम्मीदवारों द्वारा परीक्षा कक्ष/भवन के भीतर सामान्य अथवा सामान्य कलाई घड़ी ले जाने की अनुमति होगी। तथापि, किसी विशेष सहायक उपकरण से सुसज्जित घड़ियां, जिसे संचार उपकरण के तौर पर प्रयोग किया जा सके अथवा स्मार्ट घड़ियों का प्रयोग पूर्णतया वर्जित है और उम्मीदवारों को इस प्रकार की घड़ियां परीक्षा कक्ष/भवन में ले जाने की अनुमति नहीं है।

13. परीक्षा के दोनों प्रश्‍न पत्र में उम्‍मीदवार द्वारा गलत उत्‍तर अंकित किए जाने पर पैनल्‍टी (ऋणात्‍मक अंकन) होगी ।

14. काले बॉल प्‍वाइंट पेन के अलावा किसी अन्‍य पेन से अंकित किए गए उत्‍तरों का मूल्‍यांकन नहीं किया जाएगा ।

15. उम्‍मीदवारों को सलाह दी जाती है कि वे कीमती/ मूल्‍यवान सामान और बैग परीक्षा भवन में न लाएं, क्‍योंकि उनकी सुरक्षा सुनिश्‍चित नहीं की जा सकती। इस संबंध में हुए नुकसान के लिए आयोग जिम्‍मेवार नहीं होगा ।

NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY(NDA)

If you want to join defence services, the earliest option is to join NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY, Pune after completing your Senior secondary education. National defence academy (NDA) is a Tri services training organisation located at Khadakwasla in Pune, Maharashtra that jointly train the cadets of all three defence forces of India namely Indian Army, Indian Air force and Indian Navy along with training foreign cadets from armed forces pf a few friendly countries like Nepal, etc.

To join NDA as a cadet you need to clear the exam conducted by UPSC followed by a series of tests/ interviews being carried out at a Service Selection Board. The National Defence Academy exam is a national level exam and is held twice a yeari.e. NDA&NA exam I and II. The notifications for the respective exams are usually released in the month of December and June.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NDA EXAM

Nationality

·         An applicant must be a citizen of India, Bhutan, or Nepal

·         Descendants of a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1962 and currently settled here

·         Or a migrant of Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and East African countries and intended to settle down permanently in India.

Age limit, Gender, and Marital status

·         As per the Birth certificate of the candidate, the age should vary between 16.5 to 19.5 years

·         Only male candidates are allowed to sit in the examinations

·         Marital status should be unmarried, and the cadet is not allowed to marry during the training period.

Qualification

·         For Indian Army: A candidate should have a certification of completion of 12^th (10+2), or equivalent certificate from a recognized board

·         For Indian Navy/ Air Force: A candidate should have a certification of 12^th standard with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subjects or equivalent certificate from a recognised board

Note: Students who are appearing in the 12^th examination can also apply.
