The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) comprisesof seven security forces of the nation viz. Assam Rifles(AR), Border Security Forces(BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Forces(CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB), Central Industrial Security Forces(CIFS). For anAssistant commandantdirect recruitment is in five of the CAPF services i.e., BSF, CRPF,ITBP, SSB and CISF.

Assistant commandant in CAPF is a gazetted officer that leads the troops of approximately 150 armed personnel. An assistant commandant has an array of responsibilities and duties to perform, and their job profile differs according to the paramilitary forces.

 

 ELIGIBILITY CRETERIA FOR ASSISTANT COMMANDANT IN CAPF:

 1.       Nationality:

 A candidate should be an Indian and any exceptions should only be allowed after the consent of the Central Government.

 2.       Sex:

 Males as well as Females are eligible for the post of Assistant Commandant.

 3.       Education qualification:

A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by Indian government. If a candidate has appeared in the qualifying exam and waiting for the results can also appear in the exams.

 4.       Age limit: The minimum age of a candidate should be 20 years and the upper age limit is 25 years.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS OF ASSISTANT COMMANDANT IN CAPF:

 Officers(AC) in CAPF are recruited by Central Armed Police Forces through an exam conducted by Union Service Public Commission of India(UPSC). The recruitment process involves two levels:

1.       Written test: It consists of two papers, paper-I which is about General Ability and Intelligence and and Paper-II involves General Studies, Essay and Comprehension. Each paper has minimum qualifying marks separately, evaluation of paper second is only be done if the candidate has scored minimum qualifying marks

2.       Physical Efficiency test and Medical Test: Candidates are eligible for this level if they have qualified the written exam and are meeting the prescribed physical standard. Toqualify the second level, a candidate needs pass the following physical activities
